Life Coaching for High-Performing Professionals

Executive and life coaching for driven adults who want expert mental health-informed support — without the constraints of traditional weekly therapy.

Therapy Isn't the Right Fit for Everyone

You're not in crisis. You don't need to process childhood trauma on a weekly schedule. What you need is a sharp, experienced partner who understands human behavior, relationships, and performance — and who is available when you actually need them.

Traditional therapy is structured around a 50-minute weekly appointment. That works well for a lot of people. But for high-performing professionals who move fast, think big, and need flexibility — it can feel like the wrong container.

Coaching at Nix Baker Wellness is built differently.

What Makes This Coaching Different

Most life coaches have completed a certification program. Brittany Baker is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 14 years of clinical experience in human behavior, relationships, anxiety, ADHD, and performance psychology.

That depth of expertise doesn't disappear in a coaching context. It means you're working with someone who can spot patterns most coaches would miss, understands the psychological underpinnings of what's holding you back, and brings genuine clinical sophistication to goals that go beyond surface-level productivity advice.

This is not therapy. But it's informed by everything therapy has to offer.

How Coaching Works

Coaching at Nix Baker Wellness is designed around your life — not a rigid weekly appointment schedule.

Monthly packages include approximately 60 minutes of coach-client contact per week (4 hours of coaching per month), delivered flexibly across the month. This means:

  • Scheduled face-to-face video sessions when depth and focus are needed

  • Asynchronous communication between sessions — messaging, voice notes, or quick check-ins when something comes up in real time

  • Responsiveness that matches the pace of your actual life during business hours

You're not waiting until next Tuesday at 3 pm to work through something that happened this morning. You have access to support that moves with you.

What We Work On

Coaching at Nix Baker Wellness focuses on the areas that high-performing professionals most commonly struggle with — not because they lack capability, but because capability alone doesn't solve everything.

  • Professional Goals and Career Direction

    • Clarity on what you actually want — not just what looks good on paper. We work on professional goals, career decisions, leadership challenges, and navigating high-stakes professional environments.

  • Work-Life Balance and Burnout Prevention

    • High performers often reach a point where the pace they've maintained is no longer sustainable. We work on building a life that includes recovery, enjoyment, and sustainability — without sacrificing the drive that got you here.

  • Relationships — Intimate, Dating, and Social

    • Relationships don't automatically improve when your career does. We work on intimate partnerships, dating intentionally, friendships that actually fill you up, and navigating the social complexity that comes with high-achievement environments.

  • Relationships at Work

    • How you show up with colleagues, direct reports, managers, and clients matters. We work on communication, boundaries, conflict, leadership presence, and the interpersonal dynamics that affect your professional life daily.

  • Self-Care and Enjoyment

    • Many high performers are excellent at achieving and poor at receiving — poor at rest, enjoyment, pleasure, and genuine self-care that goes beyond a workout routine. We work on building a relationship with yourself that isn't contingent on output.

  • Identity and Fulfillment

    • The "successful but unfulfilled" experience is real and more common than anyone admits. We work on the gap between who you are on paper and how your life actually feels — and what it would take to close it.

Coaching vs. Therapy — What's the Difference?

This is an important distinction and one worth understanding clearly.

Therapy is a licensed clinical service regulated by state law. It involves the diagnosis and treatment of mental health conditions, works with clinical-level distress, and is bound by the licensure requirements of the state where the client lives. Therapy focuses on healing, symptom reduction, and psychological well-being.

Coaching is not a licensed clinical service and does not involve a diagnosis or treatment of mental health conditions. It is not regulated by state licensure, which means it is available to anyone, anywhere, regardless of what state they live in. Coaching focuses on growth, goals, performance, and life design rather than clinical treatment.

Because coaching is not therapy, it is not covered by insurance, and no superbill will be provided.

Who is coaching right for? Coaching is the right fit if you are generally psychologically stable and not dealing with active clinical-level mental health symptoms — but you want expert, high-touch support for goals, relationships, performance, and fulfillment. If significant mental health concerns are present, therapy is the more appropriate starting point, and I will tell you that directly.

How to Apply

Coaching at Nix Baker Wellness is selective. I work with a small number of coaching clients at a time to ensure the level of access and engagement the model requires.

To apply, reach out for a 20-minute discovery call. We'll talk about where you are, what you're working on, and whether this is the right fit.

Coaching is available to clients anywhere — not limited by state licensure.

Is Coaching Right for You?

Coaching at Nix Baker Wellness is a good fit if:

  • You're a high-performing professional who wants expert support without the structure of weekly therapy

  • You want flexibility — face-to-face sessions combined with real-time access between sessions

  • You're focused on growth, goals, and performance rather than clinical treatment

  • You want to work with someone who has deep expertise in human behavior, relationships, and psychology — not just a productivity framework

  • You're ready to invest seriously in your own development

It is not the right fit if you are currently experiencing significant mental health symptoms, an active crisis, or clinical-level distress. In those cases, therapy is the appropriate level of care — and I offer that too.

Coaching FAQs

Is coaching the same as therapy?

1

No. Coaching is a goal-oriented, growth-focused process that does not involve diagnosis or treatment of mental health conditions. It is not a licensed clinical service and is not regulated by state law. Therapy is a licensed clinical service that involves diagnosis and treatment of mental health conditions. Both have value — they serve different purposes.

Do I have to live in a specific state to work with you for coaching?

2

No. Because coaching is not a licensed clinical service, it is not restricted by state licensure. You can work with Brittany for coaching regardless of where you live.

What does the 60 minutes per week look like in practice?

3

It's flexible by design. Some weeks that might be one 60-minute video session. Other weeks it might be a 30-minute session plus asynchronous messaging throughout the week. We structure it around what you're working on and what you need that month.

Can I do both coaching and therapy?

4

If you are also working with a therapist — whether with Brittany or someone else — coaching can complement that work well. If you're a current therapy client at Nix Baker Wellness, we'll discuss whether transitioning to or adding coaching makes sense for where you are.

Why a monthly subscription?

5

The model includes approximately 60 minutes of contact per week with real-time and/or between-session availability and responsiveness. This is a high-touch, high-access model — not a standard hourly coaching rate. The investment reflects the level of expertise, availability, and engagement included. Add-ons to the 60 minutes per week are available.

If it becomes clear during coaching that clinical-level support is what's actually needed, I will tell you directly, and we can discuss whether therapy is the right next step.

What if I need more support than coaching can provide?
